Considered desk setups

A calmer look at how your working space fits you

We study desks, chairs, lighting, and screen placement, then translate what we observe into clear, practical notes you can act on at your own pace.

  • Desk geometry
  • Seating posture
  • Light & glare
  • Screen height

What a session actually looks like

You walk us through a normal working day. We note the measurable details, ask questions about comfort and habits, and write up observations in plain language. Nothing is rushed, and nothing is prescribed beyond general, educational suggestions.

Why this exists

Most desks are inherited, rarely arranged

People tend to accept whatever desk, chair, and screen arrived first, then shape themselves around it. Our role is simply to slow down and describe what is happening, so the arrangement becomes a deliberate choice rather than an accident of furniture.

  • We describe what we observe in measurable, neutral terms.
  • We share general principles, not personalised health advice.
  • You decide which adjustments suit your routine and budget.
Four lenses

The angles we look through

Each review is organised around four straightforward lenses. They keep the conversation grounded and the notes easy to follow.

Layout & reach

Where items sit on the desk and how far you stretch to use them during a typical hour.

Seating & support

Chair height, backrest contact, and how your feet meet the floor while you work.

Light & screen

Glare sources, screen distance, and the angle your eyes travel to read comfortably.

Movement rhythm

Natural pauses in the day and simple ways to add gentle variety to long stretches of sitting.

The arc of a review

Four unhurried steps

We keep the structure light so the focus stays on your real working day rather than a rigid checklist.

    A relaxed walkthrough

You show us the space as it is on an ordinary day, clutter and all.

  2. Step two

    Quiet measurement

We record heights, distances, and angles without changing anything yet.

  3. Step three

    Plain-language notes

Observations are written up so each point is easy to understand and revisit.

  4. Step four

    Your own pace

You choose what to try, in any order that fits your week.

Experience you can place

Grounded in years of patient observation

Our notes draw on a decade of reviewing home offices, studios, and shared work areas across Victoria. We reference widely published ergonomics guidance and explain the reasoning behind every observation so you can weigh it yourself.

Stated sources

We point to the public guidance we rely on.

No overreach

General information only, never a diagnosis.

The way we work

Clarity first, pressure never

We would rather give you three notes you understand than thirty you ignore. Every summary is written to be read once, revisited later, and shared with whoever helps you set up your space.

Observe

We describe, measure, and listen before suggesting anything.

Translate

Findings become plain notes, free of jargon and pressure.

Hand over

You keep the summary and decide what, if anything, to change.

Common questions

Before you reach out

No. We provide general, educational information about how a workspace is arranged. We do not diagnose, treat, or comment on any health condition, and we encourage you to speak with a qualified professional for personal concerns.
A written summary of observations and general suggestions, organised by the four review lenses. It is yours to keep, revisit, and share.
Not at all. We work with the desk, chair, and screen you already use. Any suggestions are optional and never tied to a particular brand or purchase.
Our office is at 20 Convention Centre Pl, South Wharf VIC 3006. Reviews can be arranged for nearby home and shared work environments.
